Olusegun Obasanjo abandons PDP to remain as elder statesman



















The Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday, February 16, 2015 tore his Peoples Democratic Party membership card, saying he is no more a politician.

Obasanjo who finally dumped the ruling party in the presence of PDP members from ward 11 in Abeokuta North local government, said he would prefer to be an elderstateman.
The former President addressing members of the PDP at his Presidential mansions in Abeokuta who came to confirm whether he has been expelled from the party or not, said if his involvement in partisan politics would stop him from having a better Nigeria, then he is ready to sacrifice membership of the PDP and become a statesman.
While he was responding to enquiry on rumour to expel him from the party, directed his aide to get his membership card and few minutes later he was given, throw it away, declaring that "if this is why we cannot have the Nigeria we desire, I am no longer part of this.
And finally, he asked his aid to tear his membership card in front of fellow part members.

Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment 2015 - New!!!



After the 2014 Nigeria Immigration recruitment tragedy which occurred on Saturday, 15 March, 2014, the President ordered for an immediate return of all the funds collected from the applicants. He went further to say that there would be a new recruitment exercise and the previous one would be cancelled. So, here comes the NEW massive immigration service recruitment 

2015 Immigration Service Recruitment and Application Procedure

Pursuant to its mandate to assist the Civil Defense, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) in conducting a fresh Recruitment Exercise, the Presidential Committee to assist in the Immigration Recruitment Exercise, hereby invites application from suitably qualified candidates for appointment into the following vacant positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service.
VACANCIES
  1. CATERORY A: SUPERINTENDENT CADRE – Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI II) – CONPASS 08
  2. CATEGORY B: INSPECTORATE CADRE – Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII) – CONPASS 06
  3. CATEGORY C: IMMIGRATION ASSISTANT CADRE – Immigration Assistant III (IA3) – CONPASS 03
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Be a Nigerian citizen by birth or descent;
  2. Not less than 18 years or more than 35 years of age;
  3. Not less than 1.7 metres in height for male and 1.64 metres for female;
  4. Have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 metres;
  5. Be certified by a Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment into the Service;
  6. Not suffering from any form of mental or physical disability. Candidates with any of the following medical cases need not apply:
  7. Sight problem;
  8. Hearing difficulties;
  9. Previous major orthopedic operation;
  10. Flat foot;
  11. Fracture, stammering or any other natural disability;
  12. Be free from any form of financial embarrassment;
  13. Be of good character and must not have been found guilty of any criminal offence;
CATERORY A: SUPERINTENDENT CADRE
  1. Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI II) – CONPASS 08
    1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION Candidates applying for this position must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University preferably in the following disciplines: Geography, French/other Foreign Languages, Humanities and other subjects relevant to Migration Management.
CATEGORY B: INSPECTORATE CADRE
  1. Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII) – CONPASS 06
    1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION Candidates applying for this position must possess any of the following:
      1. National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution.
      2. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution; or
      3. General Certificate of Education (Advance Level) in two (2) subjects obtained at one sitting or three (3) subjects obtained at two sittings.
CATEGORY C: IMMIGRATION ASSISTANT CADRE
  1. Immigration Assistant III (IA3) – CONPASS 03
    1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION Candidates applying for this position must possess any of the following:
      1. West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
      2. National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including English Language.

Dr Moses Amako, formal CMD of Owerri Specialist Hospital Kidnapped dies 4 days after his release

    
   The immediate past Chief Medical Director of Owerri Specialist Hospital, Dr Mose  who was kidnapped on December 1, but later released one week after, has been reported died.

    Dr Amako died last Saturday at about 7 pm following bullet injuries he sustained in one of his legs. The abductors shattered his leg with bullets and kept him captive for over one week.
   According to the SUN reports, the late Dr Amako was released to the family last week Wednesday having paid a ransom of N 20 million. He was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
It was gathered that more than 10 medical consultants battled to save his life but the injuries were affected by tetanus.

2012/2013 UNIZIK Diploma Admission List Released

The Diploma admission lists for UNIZIK academic year of 2012/2013 has been released. This list is reported to be pasted on the UNIZIK Diploma building noticed board. It is unforunate that currently the list had not be online.So, If you applied for the programme, do yourself good by visiting Nnamdi Azikwe University, Akwa.

  The registration for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination JAMB UTME 2012 is still on . Candidates registration for this examination must adhere strictly to the instructions I have stated below here. Though, this registration has been on for sometime now,  many candidates registering for this exam have been making mistakes during the registration and this is likely going to affect them adversely.
  • First, NOT ALL CAFES are allow to register candidates for the examination. So, candidates are not go to any cafe in the quest that HE/SHE want register for JAMB UTME 2012.  Please, click HERE  to search for available Registration Centres/Authorized Cafes in your State of registration.
