JAMB Plan to Introduce E- ExaminationTesting Method

Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) propose introduction of  of electronic testing, of prospective candidates seeking admissions into the nation’s universities and other tertiary institutions.
He explained that with the “E” testing, when operational, a candidate will seat by a computer, do the examination and as soon as he or she finishes, the candidate will press a button on the computer and the result comes out and as soon as the candidate gets to the entrance gate of the examinations centre, the result slip will be issued to him or her.
Ojerinde, who disclosed this at the commissioning of an ultra modern  Zonal office of JAMB in Minna, stated that the new zonal office will further enhance the confidentiality of JAMB examinations.

He said; “For the past 13 years, we have been harbored by the Niger State Ministry of Education and by the nature of our job, confidentiality must be maintained and therefore mixing with the public is not good enough for us.
“ Though I am not saying that as social elements, we cannot mix, but interacting with the public in terms of our documents is not  good. So, this new place being commissioned today has added that value of confidentiality and secrecy that we want to maintain in the conduct of our examinations.“
The JAMB boss also hinted that by the end of the year 2013, the whole country would have had prototype JAMB office in each state capital, stressing that as part of the expansion programme, no fewer than six states, including Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Ekiti , Delta and Jigawa will benefit from this before the end of 2012.
He however said that each of the zonal offices will cost the organization about N56 million
Also in her remarks, the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufai, commended the Niger State government for providing enabling environment for all federal agencies to carry out their statutory duties in the state.
She pointed out that the state government provided JAMB with its initial abode, which it occupied for a number of years in addition to providing the organisation  with land in a choice and suitable area in the state  capital, to build its new zonal office.
“These are excellent examples of a working federation, where each component shares and identifies with one another’s aspirations and desires geared towards developmental efforts of a united country.
The minister therefore urged other state governments to emulate Niger State under Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu to work in unison with the Federal Government to achieve the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Waoo..   I think this will very very nice if it will be implemented. I pray it will not be cook and bull story.
